Finally going in the rt direction!
I was very discouraged when I went to the Dr for my 2 week post op check up and I had GAINED 3 lbs. I was heartbroken.
I later found out that I had a UTI due to lack of fluid intake. Since then, I have increased both my calorie intake & my water intake.
Since then, I have gone from 263 back down to 259. This made me VERY happy. It was also the week he changed me from liquids to mushies so I was sad.
Now that I have taken care of the liquid intake and the calorie intake, I am realizing I am going the correct way & I will continue until he puts me on REGULAR food next week. I am on lumpy now & added some veggies & it seems to be helping! Walking 2 miles 5 days a week on my Gazelle & also walking aprox 9-10,000 steps daily is helping also. I have added some wts to both wrists & ankles. Gotta start toning up!
So for all who are discouraged, DON'T BE! You will be able to turn it around & do what needs to be done! If you focus, YOU CAN DO IT!

Holy crap that seems fast with the veggies and such! I am happy to read that you are moving in the right direction, and shocked that you are able to exercise that much! Happy shocked that is! Yesterday I walked a mile, but it took two different sessions to make it happen. 5 miles is showing committement! You inspire me- I think I will try to bump up the walking a bit more today!
It doesn't seem possible that with all of your walking and miniscule calories that you didn't lose??

It was the same week I had surgery that I started walking my kids to & from school. Had the surgery on Mon, came home on Tues & by Fri I had walked them 4 blocks 2 & from school in the morning & afternoon. So that was 8 blocks each time. The walking on the Gazelle started just after I hit my 2 weeks post op. It took me 26.6 mins to do a mile all together but the first 2 days I did a .5 mile then a .5 mile a few hrs later. The 3rd week, I started to do a mile in 15 mins then a 20 min mile 1/2 now I am up to 2 mile 1 at a time 15 mins each plus still trying to get my 10,000 steps a day in. It is NOT easy & I really have to say the past 2 days I have not done the gazelle but I have done my steps so I am happy. I am now down 24 lbs since my pre op visit. SO HAPPY!! You can do this. TAKE YOUR TIME & EASE into it. That is what I did. It is making me happy! I am on lumpy foods now & taking it one day at a time. My husband made me some bean soup and I had made some split pea soup so we are doing veggies that way plus they are good sources of protien! YAY
Keep it up!
