Terrible gagging cough worries me..
I have contracted this terrible cold that my son had.. he was wretching so bad that he'd run to the toilet and think he was vomiting.. he was in a way but it was only mucous and saliva coming out.
Well I have this awful problem as well.. I hack so hard it sometimes sounds like things in my throat are popping. It's terribly painful and I have thrown up five times already.. once when I was shopping.. I had to rush out of the store cuz I knew it was a possibility and sure enough.
I'm kind of worried that the pressure could hurt my staple line? Most of the pressure I feel in those bad bouts is in my head and my eyes even have red pin dots from coughing so hard. I am told they will go away. I hope so.
Anyone else had such a bad cough so soon out of WLS?

Ouch! I am so sorry you are so sick around the holidays. I hope you feel better.
I'm sure the spasms from coughing hurt because your stomach is still tender probably but I don't think it will hurt it a month out. Call you doc if you aren't sure though.
One thing some people have mentioned though is that if you have draining sinuses or stuff like that.....it can actually drain and fill up your sleeve with mucus and snot. That can lead to vomiting or having problems getting your fluids.
Are you allowed any Robutussin or anything else to help reduce the cough?
