any medical field people out there?  my bilirubin was slightly elevated 1.7 mg/dl a few weeks ago, my surgeon repeated the test with direct/indirect levels and all were slightly high (total went to 1.8 from 1.7).  my surgeon is in the middle of switching hospitals and i haven't spoken to him yet (am trying to call him today) but any idea what this could be?  i'm freaking.

High protein diets make you liver work harder...may explain the higher numbers.

I'm not medical, but I do have SOME liver knowledge as I have a liver condition.  I have to watch all my bloodwork.....
