update on lab work and can I say how much i love my surgeon?
So my bilirubin had come back high after 2 tests. Because the surgeon said it's mostly indirect bilirubin, it probably is not gallstones but instead hemolysis (had a spleen infarct from being knicked during surgery). Have to have a follow up CT scan with iv contrast next week to make sure the spleen is still doing ok.
When I called my local hospital to schedule the CT scan, told them that my surgeon only wants iv contrast, not oral. The scheduler was adament that it had to be oral because it is an abdomen/pelvic CT. Tried to explain situation, figured f*** it and made the appointment anyway. I emailed my surgeon, he emailed me back within an hour saying that it can and should only be iv contrast because he's looking at only my spleen and not my stomach/gi tract. I called my local hospital back and got some other scheduler who was amazing, explained my situation, she put me on hold to check with radiology and said i could come in an hour later than originally told to and to bring my email incase the radiologist had questions.
So thankful that my surgeon is so quick and on the ball. Boring post, but needed to get it out. :)
