These pre op days are tough.
I am simply dying. This is really tough for me. I know it is necessary, but this 9 days protein, 1 day clear liquids is really trying.
I didn't even get to eat the night before I started this, as I was sick. Family was taking me out for my birthday and I was going to have a steak (my fav which I know I can't really have for a bit once I have my sleeve) and I could not go bc I felt so badly.
Sorry for venting and seeming like I am having a pity party, because I do know this is the right thing and I do know this is what I want to do. Thanks for listening.
The pre-op diet was really the hardest part for me. What are your guidelines? The only restriction I had was no more than 20 carbs. I didn't do the shakes, I ate all of the stuff I would not be able to eat after surgery. I have done Atkins a few times, but for some reason I was really hungry. Eggs, meat, fish, cheese, low carb yogurt. My goal was not to lose weight, but to shrink my liver. Your diet may be different.
Hang in there..the full liquid day is rough, but then it is done and you are on your way.
M
good luck, and congrats on your life changing adventure.

My doctor put me on 9 days of full liquids and then 1 day of clear. I presumed this meant only protein shakes and stuff of that nature for the full days. Then 1 day of clear.
Do you think having that tiny bit of "real food" before I mentioned will hurt me? Sorry to sound so newbish!
