nervous about CT scan Tuesday

i have to have a follow up CT scan with iv contrast done on Tuesday due to the issue with my spleen that happened during surgery (gastric artery was knicked attached to spleen, lost 1% blood supply in tip of spleen while they controlled bleeding).  i ended up in ER with dehydration week 2 post op and they did a CT scan just to make sure no spleen issues.  (there weren't).  now that bilirubin is too high he just wants to make sure no changes (i'm 3 months out).

for anyone that has had an iv contrast CT scan done, i hate it for 2 reasons: 1) when they pushed the contrast in my iv it hurt like hell and 2) the warm hot flash, i peed myself feeling that you get.

any words of wisdom?

I had one of those contrast cat scans as well. It's an odd feeling, just remember it doesn't take long. I am so sorry that you are going through all of this. ugh! how are you feeling?

the past week or two i've been absolutely exhausted.  not sure if its just me or related to the surgery.  i find myself questioning every twinge scared if its related to surgery or something else.  hopefully in a few months i'll get over it!

thanks for asking!  i see you were sleeved in december?  how are you doing now?

 that just sucks!

I am doing very well. Finally getting some energy. Finally cooking regular food, instead of heating up canned goods, etc. Hoping to see the scale move again.

I hope you feel better soon. Keep me posted on how it goes. I am sure all is fine.

I don't know how long ago you had your last one, but the contrast dyes have become less irritating.  I remember my first one many years ago, it hurt, I felt like I peed myself and I was miserable all day afterward (plus got an allergic reaction).  Then, I had one in the last few years and it wasn't as bad.  It didn't hurt nearly as bad but I still felt warm like I peed myself (but of course I didn't).  It'll be ok!

I had many scans while in the hospital for my leak!!! You still get the urinating feeling. But, I don't recall it ever hurting!

Can remember when the surgeon was going in again trying to fix my leak and says " we may have to remove your spleen for better access to your leak...Well, didn't lose my spleen, and they didn't fix the leak either..LOL...Just another check off for the surgeons!!
