Hi to my OH family!
I had my one year check up today and I wrote this in my facebook...I was going to write something for OH, but this pretty much sums up what I wanted to say...I'll post an after picture later!
A Thank You to my Family and Friends:
One year ago today, my life changed forever. I had a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. I was seriously obese, my labs were terrible, and I was a heart attack waiting to happen. I was miserably trapped in a body that I knew wasn't me. I take full responsibility for the way it was, as much as I take the pride and responsibility for the way it is now.
The joy of living for the first time in a long time exceeds the work and physical/emotional changes I had to accomplish to make this successful. The work will never be over and I'll always be mindful and attend support groups, so I stay on the right track for the rest of my life.
I've lost 115 pounds, my triglycerides went from 275 down to 72, my BP is 108/72, I went from a size 22/24 jeans to a loose size 10, and an XXL dress to a size 8.
I thank all of you for encouraging me, having the patience to put up with my bragging, and the patience to put up with my whining on some days, too. I especially want to thank my Husband for being my knight in shining armour, my hero and the best Husband anyone could ask for.
