It's the little things
The benefits of having had this surgery, such as much improved health and mobility, were, of course, the major reasons I took this journey. But it's the little things, that people who have never struggled with significant weight issues take for granted, that sustain me and daily motivate me to stay the course. Things like crossing my legs, being able to reach the spot that needs scratching, cutting my toenails without having to contort my body, walking to the restroom down the hall at work, finding it's occupied and going to the other end of the building to the other restroom and not giving it a second thought, standing in line, etc., make this journey, and the hard work that goes with it, worth it on a daily basis. Today, I took a bath for the first time in years! I take showers generally anyway, but it's nice to soak in a tub for the relaxation once in awhile. We have a standard tub and for so long, I didn't fit comfortably in it, nor could I get in or out without a major struggle. I stayed soaking in an oiled bath for almost an hour and it felt wonderful!!! I was deprived of this indulgent pleasure for so long. Now that I can indulge, I plan to take full advantage!
so right!!! congrats!!! its scary how close our stats are, we are doing so great I never would have believed Id be able to fit in a size 16 jeans, at less than 5 months out, Ive been soaking up the bath water too, love it. keep up the good work.

I'm Still a work in progress, I wont give up the quest to reclaim my life, I will be whole again someday!

It's funny that you wrote this...I was thinking of posting a similar topic the other day.
I have always loved the look of corduroy pants. I would never wear them though because I was always embarrassed by "swooshing" when my thighs rubbed together. I just bought my 2nd pair...no more swooshing! LOL
I also fit so much better in the tiny showers on a cruise ship!

Yes, it's probably similar to the shower on a camper. They are usually round, about 2.5-3' circle. Usually with a fabric shower curtain that likes to attack you! LOL
Try the corduroys, they were very comfy! JCPenney had some with a bit of stretch in them, which is so comfy! I paid less than $14 on sale.

Hate those attack curtains! LOL I will check out the pants. I try to get all of my pants with a little stretch in them - they are much more comfy. Do they come in petite length? Thanks, I'll check them out! I have actually had luck at Wally World getting jeans. They have them in light, medium and dark denim that don't have the variations in color. Some also come in black, khaki and a tan color. I am more comfortable in jean style pants, so I scooped up a couple of colors for work. I didn't check before responding, where you're at, so don't know if you are now shopping in regular or plus. I'm into 18W, soon to be 16W. They have Just My Size and Riders. The Riders come in the smaller sizes as well, I believe.
