My doctor also uses a size 40f bougie.  He told me he won't use anything smaller because it increases the chance of having relux.  I take no PPI's (acid reducer) and I don't know of anyone in my support group who does easier.  I got to goal in 8 months and am 104 pounds down from my highest weight.  I can NOT eat more than 3/4 to a cup of food.  5 medium shrimp stuffs me.  My sleeve was done right and I can live a normal life.  I have also heard people saying a 40 is "too big" but I disagree.  Good Luck

If the surgery is performed correctly reflux shouldn't be a problem.  There is a lot involved with this surgery and making sure that the stomach is cut  and stapled correctly will make a difference with reflux.

My husband and I have a 32 that was oversewn.

My husbands stomach must be longer because he can eat more than I before he feels any tightness.

So far it's been working great. I sometimes wi**** was bigger (mostly when I'm eating something I shouldn't be) but then I think, if it was any bigger I'd be really fat again....

Good Luck,
let me know when you get your surgery scheduled.
