Shaking my damn head...surgeons office
I spent the past 9 months gathering documents and doing quite a bit of testing.... actually crap loads of it. Never had so many test / exams in my entire life.... I promise, it felt like a part time job. All those diet sheets and much more. couldnt get the coordinator on phone, everyone is busy when call. so, i walk in, I expect to see the staff there busy and running aroud, but they arent . They are sitting there like they are in a haze. No problem....Im patient ...I hand over documents, she takes them.... bye sorry coordinator is on the phone cant see you. I havent heard from them since, not returning my call.....

Can you switch to a different surgeon?
I have no patience for people who are supposed to be providing me with a service that I am paying for who can't treat me any better than that. I work too hard to contribute to their salary for them to think any part of that type of attitude is okay.
If you're determined to stay with this group, can you email the people you are trying to call? Sometimes these types are better with emails than phone calls.
Best of luck, and don't be afraid to shop around!

This is just my opinion, but the surgeon is only one piece of the total package of the surgery... a major piece, yes, but there are others involved in your experiences during the process.
I started this journey wanting to use the same surgeon my husband used, but his office staff treated me the same way you are describing, and I decided that I didn't feel comfortable relying on them to help me if I needed them. What if I had a question after surgery, and couldn't get in touch with whomever I needed in a timely manner? And then the girl who answers the phones was extremely rude when I told her that my work schedule makes leaving a voice mail and waiting for a returned call extremely difficult, if not impossible.
Honestly, with me being self-pay, I guess I have a little more flexibility in this area. But I was not about to give someone that much money without being 100% confident that I would be taken care of, both during and after the surgery. This is too important to take that kind of risk.

OY VEY!!!! Now your post makes a lot of sense!
The surgeons are fabulous, however the office staff is generally unorganized. Early 2011, there was an individual there who was ON THE BALL (her name was Gina)!!!! She started the approval process for me and she was fabulous. I was denied several times and ultimately went for an outside review. Before the outside review, this individual who was helping with the process left the practice and the person who you are likely dealing with now seemed overwhelmed and a little unorganized. I finally took the entire package and sent the information myself for an outside appeal.
I agree that there are a lot of problems with the office staff. You should probably try to deal with the insurance carriers on your own--get the information you need and coordinate directly. OR, I would speak to Roslin (or Yatco) directly and voice your concerns. I find it hard to believe that they don't know what's going on under their noses.
Thanks so much... this is something I will consider.... Trying to keep the faith. This was great advice. I guess they have plenty of patients there and can afford to ignore some of us. Sad part is I'm right in Queens, 20 min or so away, but yet so far. How the heck do folks from out of state get in. I see many out of state patients on here...
crazy!
