Low Carb Bread

Today I tried making low carb high protein bread.  It is edible, but not terribly pleasing.  Next I am going to try the low carb bread by Bobs Red Mill Low Carb mix.  I should have tried this first, as the reviews are not to bad.  If you use a bread machine the reviews are saying it rises and pops the lid.  I think I am going to try to divide it in 2 loaves so that is slices smaller slices.  Here is a link from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EDM70Y/ref=rcxsubs_than kyou_product

Julien Bakery makes a good high protein/low carb bread sold in most health food stores.  I also found this link for making your own bread... high in calories, but sounds like they're healthy nut calories and protein.

Oh dang, I thought I had to order Julian bros. and have it shipped.  Not willing to do that.  I will check the area health food stores.  I appreciate you mentioning that :)  i will take a peek at the recipe too- can't be worse than the abomination I made earlier today!  Either that crap will toast well or I got me a whole lotta high protein low carb bread crumbs!

I was sleeved back in September and I was so excited to order some low carb bread and then came to realize it is going to be months before I should worry about getting bread in because I was going to be trying to get in as much protein from real food as I could having no room for that. I still don't know when I will be ordering it but not even craving breads. If I get craving a pizza I have ice cube size sauce frozen in baggies so I just make a crustless pizza, which I think I made two so far but my children like it so it doesn't last very long. I get enough enjoyment out of the toppings to hold me over a few months.

Hang in there and focus more on the protein. I know many say they are eating normal and some are actually losing like crazy. I am a stair looser or slow loser, I will go a few days and not lose anything then a day or two of losing. I have really been increasing my walking and working out so I was stuck in a stall but then I got thinking that I am increasing muscle too because I am still losing the inches. It is so weird but I go for the inches now until I stop working out lol.

I hear you on the don't eat bread, or at least not very much component.  The stuff that I made is very high in protein- 12 grams for about 100 calories.  Once in a while I don't think it will be too terrible.  The two loaves I have are sliced and frozen and I have a feeling that is going to last me a good while.

I love the Julian Bakery products, but I've had a loaf in the freezer for almost 6 months. I can only manage about half a slice at a time, it just makes me too full. It's not so much the carb count, as the fact that low-carb bread tends to sit in my stomach like a rock. I use low-carb tortillas quite a bit, or Flat-Outs.

I just saw that Costco has a whole wheat tortilla that was pretty friendly- they were just so darn BIG.  I wasn't sure how they would freeze, so I just let them be.
