Can food stamps be used to buy protein shakes?

ease at walmart was aproved with my ebt card body fortress 1 scoop 30 protien  2 scoops 60 protien was not publix brand is covered and also eat good look great 1 scoop 25 protien  from publix was aproved with ebt and for some that don't know ebt, snap, and food stamps are all the same product but instead of paper  we have a ebt card that holds food purchasing a mount every month what you don't use rolls over to next month and so on. saying that what i do is tell the cashier that i want to see wich protien powder will be aproved with my ebt card then i pick what i want for my needs and servings and amount of protien with one serving. i hope this helps you any plus if it say for nutritional needs or food replacement it should be covered but it is not the ebt in it's self it is the person that puts the info of the product in the computer and target is the worst place to shop i could not buy oatmeal, splenda and meny other things so try different store for the same protien it might not go through at one store but it might at a nother  

I just joined this group looking for an answer to this question, i am having my surgery soon and was wanting to try some protein powders out, i get foodstamps being a disabled , divorced mothee of 5, i dont get much (107.00 a month) but every little bit helps. I know sam's now excepts ebt and have shakes and.powders and was wobdering if it was covered , this is great to know!  Thank you!

I get body fortress from Walmart I've tried tons premier and nausha and do many more...but honestly I like it the best...it comes in vanilla chocolate strawberry cookies and cream and chocolate peanut butter. .. it's a tub makes 21 shakes and 30 grams of protien and it's only $15.89  Hope that helps. :-)
