Motivation to Exercise

My brother in law and I just had a great conversation about exercise last night.  He is post RNY and hit goal in 9 months.  He asked if I noticed yet if exercising is easier yet- OMG yes, but I hadn't stopped to consider that.  Then he asked what activities am I looking forward to doing because my physcial well being improves- for me the big one is skiing.  He started rattling off all of the activities he now does that he couldn't do for a really long time and it was a great list :)  We also lamented that when we were younger exericsie was play, and I think that for me is really the difference.  Back in the day I had college scholarship offers for basketball, captain of the track team, yadda yadda yadda.  But at that time it was all play for me.  Now, I am going to work on finding a way to make it more play because I think long term that will serve me well to keep going.

I hate using my elliptical, but at this point nothing works better for me than that.  It is not the actual doing it that I don't like- it is the bordome associated with it.  I hate watching t.v., but just discovered that it helps to distract me.

Just start doing something.  You should find then it is easier to build from that point of doing something, rather than struggling to just get started.  You can do it!
