WOO HOO!  Congrats on your surgery.

And be happy that you don't have to do the liquid diet.  Lol  My doc requires a 2 week liquid protein diet of which I'm on day #4 and let me tell you it is not fun.  Yesterday was the worst but today was great so I think I'm over the worst of it.   You really have to deal with your head and why you eat because for example I was so irritated yesterday and normally I would eat chocolate or something as a comfort.  When you're on liquids and can't eat normally you have to figure out what else to do.

My surgery date is March 13 and I'm so excited!!!  Keep us posted on your progress :-)

Congratulations!    You must be so excited!  I actually live in NC too (up near Boone).  Dr. Pirrello is one of the docs I've researched.  If you don't mind me asking, what has been your overall experience w/ him and his practice?  Have you had a good experience so far?

I've actually just started out but, like you, have been lurking to glean knowledge for a while :)  I recently met w/ a surgeon at Wake Forest Baptist Medical (Dr. Stephen McNatt) and am pretty impressed with their program.  I guess, overall, I'm just a bit apprenhensive with them b/c vsg is not their main focus.  They do, by far, more RNYs and bands.  It's a great hospital/program, though, so I'm torn.

Any thoughts or experience you could share would be great.  Thanks!

Thanks Conicuts. The nausea was the last thing I was concerned with. I was just so relieved to finally have had the surgery that I'd have put up with it for as long as I had to. I'm so beyond happy that I'm finally over that hump and can move forward now.
