What 8 months and a VSG will do to you..
Its been 8 months and two day since I had surgery - I am in a bit of a stall right now, but I continue to lose inches. I would like to lose another 40 - 50 pounds and re-evaluate myself at that point.
In my first 6 months I lost exactly 100 pounds, I have lost an additional 20 since that point.
Here are before and present day pictures for you all, oh and my tattoo (my surgery date) as a constant reminder of what I went through - I put it on my wrist so whenever I want to eat something ****ty or make not so smart decisions, I can look at it and remember how lucky I am to have been able to have this surgery, and not to ruin it.
I would recommend this surgery to anyone and everyone who is having a hard time losing weight or keeping off their weightloss - when people say that it is a life changer, they really mean it.

I was going to put it on my collar bone area - kind of like the top of my shoulder (think rihanna) but that kind of defeated the purpose that I was going for. I really wanted to be able to see if every day, and it just so happens the my right wrist was free of ink (left has a lotus flower on it) and I happen to be right handed aka the fork hand, so I figured that was the perfect spot.
Omg! Amazing before and after pictures. I am going to meet my surgeon on Tuesday, so I am at the beginning of the process. Your pictures are so exciting to me. How did u lose 100 pounds in 6 months.? Did u work out all of the time? U look great! Please give me some tips so that I can be as successful as u. Thanks.
I work out 2x a week with a personal trainer - I did this for three years before I had surgery with no success because I never watched what I was eating, so health wise my levels were perfect, no high blood pressure, no issues other than being an "in-shape fat person" according to my surgeon. My trainer and I started to resume workouts at 3 weeks - worked everything with 5 pound weights and left abs out until the 8th week mark. At 8 weeks we were back to normal. Today, I work out 4-5x a week, 2 with my personal trainer and 2-3 on my own. I am training for a 10k so the ones that I do on my own are generally jogging on the treadmill with weights or arm work. I highly suggest getting a personal trainer or joining a gym and taking advantage of their PT if you can - I really needed someone to motivate and push me to my limit.
You look great, I have lost 80 pounds since my surgery, I am also at my 8 month and 3 day post surgery date. I have noticed also that I am at a bit of stand still myself but I to am continuing to lose inches. I agree with you as to how lucky I was to have been and to be to have had the surgery. I know that if I had not had the surgery I would have set myself of for a short life and possible put my kids on a course of following the same path that I was on myself.
Have you had any problems with self-esteem? I have had some people I know that have had issues with the way they look now in comparison to how they looked before the surgery and the fact that they lost the weight so fast?
