Pre-op Diet No Weight Loss

So I'm finally having my surgery on Monday.  I've been on this stupid liquid pre-op diet for almost 2 weeks.  I'm staying under 800 calories a day, I exercise 6 days a week for at least 50 min, and that doesn't include the fact that I homeschool and am out with the kids all the time.  I started this journey in Sep. at 270something, and I'm currently at 235.  But I started this pre-op diet at 237.  Which means in 2 weeks of under 800 calories a day (even on my worst day when I had an extra shake I was still under 1000) I've lost a whopping 2 lbs.  I could have done that on twice as many calories.  I was maintaining my 237 at aprox. 1900 calories a day for the last 2.5 months or so.

So what the hell gives?

im sorry :( i dont have an answer for that. i wonder if you built muscle while on the diet and lost inches? or your body may be retaining water? i really dont know but its fairly common not to loose alot of weight during the preop diet. After monday though it will just melt right off :) keep up the good work

Hi,
I don't know what to tell you about the 2 lbs lost. You will love your sleeve. You should  lose the weight when you get your sleeve. I am happy for you. God Bless you speedy recovery.

You've hit a stall...time of month...water retention....phases of the moon.  Frustrating, but don't sweat it.  And good luck with your surgery.

Well just remember the liquid diet is to shrink your liver, where you have already lost lots of weight you probably not going to lose much on the liquids until the surgery. Hang in there, I remember you from months ago on this board I think you were asking many many questions, I am amazed at how fast the time has flown by and you did great on your own of losing that weight pre op already.

Speedy recovery vibes being sent your way. And an early welcome to the loser bench. I will probably be away when you post that you are sleeved and home but I will still peek in if I can get wifi from the room instead of the lobby only. I basically would just run to the lobby and upload a few pics to my facebook then back to the entertainment or to bed.

Which MTF are you getting it done at?  Or are you self-pay.

Ah yes I was stationed there when I was active duty.  We are in DC now so I'm at Bethesda.  I hope all goes well with your surgery!

Hey girl.... Remember this is only to prep for the surgery.....it's preparing your body for a safe journey, and once you have your new tool (sleeve) you will rawk!

Good luck!!!!
