As I begin my journey I find myself eating everything. My mind set is I won't be able to eat soon. Is this normal?

I feel the same way sometimes. I am still Post op and will be until at least middle of may. but i eat things sometimes and think well soon i wont be able to eat this anymore but very soon after i jump right back onto my diet wagon. It helps to take small bites of the bad things that are bad for us. and eat very slowly and dont overdue it. Personally i have been craving brownies... i have been able to curb it so far but boy is it eating at me. try your best to stick with what you think your post op diet will be.

Have you tried the South Beach protein snack bars?  They have one that is whipped chocolate almond and it is almost the texture of a brownie.  It's 100 calories and I think 6g or protein and that has helped my cravings for things like that tremendously!  :)

I had to constantly remind myself that this is NOT the last time I will be getting my favorite foods, even the "bad" ones, I was just taking a little break from them.  We needed some space LOL.

It's VERY normal.  Food is comfort, your go-to (at least mine) comfortor was being put up for a little while and that's something that can make you very anxious and want to try and eat as much as you can.

I hope this makes sense!  You are NOT alone!

I found myself doing the same thing at first.  As I got closer to my consult with the surgeon, things got better.  I still ate some of my favorite foods up until I had to go on the liquid diet, but something had changed for me by that point, and I found myself eating healthier and in smaller portions, more often than not.  I think it was a combination of psychologically preparing myself for what lay ahead, and fear that if I gained weight, they wouldn't let me have the surgery, so I just kept going in the right direction.  We all have different journeys.  Good luck to you!
