Does anyone have Aflac?? I was told to get it for help when im in the hospital and recovery time for help with finances. Has anyone claimed for that with them?

When I have my surgery in July I wont have enough time on the books to to get paid, so I was just going to eat the pay loss, however my friend at work told me to look at buying aflac insurance for  that.

Any info would help. I will also post this on the main forum and insurance forum.

thanks

I, years ago wanted to get Aflac but you could not buy it.Your employer has to offer it. That is how it was done years ago.

I have aflac. Have you been consulted yet/ started pre-op testing dieting? I got mine in July 2011. Had surgery in Aug 2011. They paid me 2 checks while I was out of work.

Yeah I have it. There was something about having it in place for 6 months, but maybe that is just that policy. I opted for a two week waiting period before they would pay, so I was off for 6 weeks and was paid for a month. Not the whole amout, I think it was 2/3.

I have AFLAC that I pay for through work.  I've filed the paper work for the Hospital coverage.  I'm anticipating something like 1800 or 1900 dollars back for the three day hospitalization.  That's a nice boost because my health insurance didn't cover the surgery, so I was self-pay.  Any money I can get back from another source helps!

Luckily, I didn't need to file for additional pay for the three weeks I was off from work.  I'd accrued more than enough paid sick time.  (Knock wood, I don't get sick often and over time, the hours added up.)

I would say go ahead and get the policy now because they ask questions on the paper like have you talked with a doctor about surgery in the last 12 months. Idid go to a seminar but the doctor put the date I had my 1st visit which was 5 months after I bought the policy. The doctor has to put dates on the paper when you go out. If you can afford it get the accident policy too. It covers everyone in the home. My husband was in a car accident in November and I got $435 for that. I was out 10 weeks and got 2 checks from AFLAC $1260  &  $2840.

I work for AFLAC Well...internship...but same thing, haha. I'm in HR. I work directly under the main agent and I have to file all the paperwork documenting claims that were given out. Boy do we pay out a lot of claims....and I've never really heard negative things about them yet so I'm pretty happy with the company. It's true, we are B2B (business to business).
