Embarrassed, but I have to do it...

So I am in charge of the social committee funds at work, and up until this point the funds came from pop vending machines.  A new contract has cut our revenue by 80%, so I bought a used snack vending machine to put in the staff lounge.  Now I have boxes of snacks stored in my closet to refill the machine.  Pretty sure I am going to have a hard time staying out of it, so I think I am going to have to ask the boss to lock them up in his office or something.  How embarrassing, but worth it to stay on plan!

Oh, I totally get this one!

My cheerleaders used to sell snacks that I would buy at Sam's Club as a fundraiser, and I kept them in my room. I can't tell you how much of my own money ended up in that fundraiser because I couldn't stay out of the stash lol!

I have one box of peanuts left and one Rice Krispies Treat, and then I am never selling again.

You are clever! Great idea enlisting the support of your boss--after all, he probably wants you to be healthy and at work sooooooooo, I'm thinking he's gonna be all for it (unless he starts getting into, also! lol)

You get a round of applause for taking action and thinking ahead!!!!!! Good for you my dear!

I think your boss will have respect for you.  It is important to know where your boundaries are.  I am proud of your decision.

I agree, nothing to be embarrassed about. If you are anything like me and things call out to you until you have eaten every single one of them you have done the best thing.

Another thought- stock the machine with healthy choices- all will benefit.  OR with things you don't like.  :)  Or, can another committee member help you out with storage or filling the machine if asking your boss is embarrassing?

Yep to some healthier choices.  Before a teacher would just set out a box of candy bars and chips.  I chose instead to go with Special K bars, 90 cal granola, 100 calorie chip packs, nuts, and the really bad choices were limited to Nutty Buddys, Oatmeal pies, and M & M dark (in the quarter dispenser).  I can stay out of the stuff that is locked in the machine (even though I am the one with the keys)- It is the crap in my closet that will be the issue.  I will find a way to make this work :)
