I Reached "Normal" Today!!! PICS to prove it!
Not only have I reached my surgeon's goal, but now I've reached NORMAL BMI! Never before in my adult life have I had a Normal BMI!! I am super stoked! I have less than 5 pounds to my personal goal!!!!!!!!
I thought I was close enough to goal in the last few weeks that I could start building my new wardrobe. So I went out and bought several 8's and 6's and Medium's and even one Small. Well, now they are getting a little baggy on me! Frustrating but a GREAT problem to have!
Life is good!
It hasn't always been easy, but it is WELL worth every bit of struggle! And I'm truly building healthy habits now, which is AWESOME! Any questions, ask away!

I did some exercise before VSG, but it wasn't a lot (walking occassionally and playing volleyball once a week). So I kept up that pattern post op until month 5 or so. Then I got serious about exercise. I started by walking regularly. Then I added yoga and core classes. Then I added jogging and cardio DVDs and yoga DVDs (they are harder than my class!!). And now I'm running too. I don't "like" to exercise, but I LOVE how exercise makes me feel. Energetic, light on my feet and more flexible. I'd like to add more weights to my routine and will likely do that in maintenance. Right now the only weights I do are pretty light... in my cardio DVDs and core class.
For me, I gotta keep exercise interesting so I change it up often. And I like to work out hard for 30-60 minutes and get it done.

I have this one from Walmart:

I like it because it has three segments and you can mix and match as you like. Upper body, lower body and core. They are all more challenging than my class, so be warned. :) But, she provides modifications in case you can't do the moves as good as her... and she's really advanced so she's like a pretzel. I definitely feel like I get a good flexibilty workout with this.
