How many grams of fat do you get a day?

I was told I had to increase my calorie intake, so for the past few days I started using 'regular' instead of 'light' or 'fat free' mayo to help increase my calorie intake.  Not that I use a mayo a lot in general, but I am still in a pureed stage so I have made a blenderized tuna salad yesterday and a blenderized chicken salad the day before.   But I don't like increasing the fat count so much.  What is a good amount of fat grams to be at for the day?

Thanks in advance!

Beth

Honestly, in the past year since I have had my surgery, that is the one thing that I have never really paid attention to.  In the losing phase I stuck to 600-800 calories, no more than 45 carbs a day and never more than 15g of carbs at one meal and at least 70+g of protein.  It did not affect my weight loss by doing this.

My NUT says to also focus on high protein and low calorie intake. She never really said anything about fat content, however, on myfitnesspal I set my personal goal to never go over 30 grams a day and I have been successful so far

Fat is your friend.

From 2 months post-op to 11 months post-op I averaged, as follows:

Calories: 707
Fat: 36g
Sat Fat: 16g
Carb: 25g
Protein: 71g
Fiber: 6g
Sodium: 1078mg
Net Carbs: 18g

That was my main weightloss phase after I started solid food. Almost half my calories came from fat.

I'm MUCH farther out than you...

I don't pay attention to my fat intake, but the app I use to track my food, records it.  My average fat intake has been, per day, averaged out by week, for the last few weeks: 30.2,  39.5, 38.6, 37.2, 41.7, 38.6, 40, 31.8, 39.1, 30.4...

Looking back to 6 months ago, I was at: 25.2, 27.2, 29.7, 27.7, 24.3, 28.5, 25.1...

I'm vegetarian, so my proteins are very very lean.  I don't eat much fat at all.

My daily max is about 15 grams of fat (none saturated), but I am often more around 10 grams.

I need to add some yummy olives and avocados to my diet! :)  I probably should increase my fat intake if I can.

Nutshell:

Lost 140 lbs with VSG. (Hooray!!)

got pregnant  (yeaaaa!)

got cancer (boooo!)

regained 40 lbs.   (grrrr!)

In summary: Alive & Grateful.
