Ok not a real egg, it was eggbeaters egg whites with a little bit of 2% cheese sprinkled on.  Today is my first day on mushies and I was terrified I'd be one of the ones that just couldn't do eggs.  Eggs were a big part of my pre-op weight loss so I wasn't quite sure what I would do without them.  I ate slowly, cut a pre-op bite then broke that into 3 pieces and chewed the heck out of that.  It went down ok.  I ate the whole 3tbsp and feel good but not full (what I was aiming for).

I'm so happy to be off full liquids!

My doctor has his patients eat an egg before coming to his office for the one week post op check-up. If you can tolerate the egg, you move to mushies. I was able to heat half the egg (it took 20 mins!) and I was stuffed. I'm reading more and more on here where sleeve patients are on liquids for weeks and weeeks before even trying soft foods or mushies. That seems a little odd to me, but then again, every food is different.
I actually had to go to a restaraunt one week post op for a business lunch. I ordered potato soup and avoided any chunks, etc. Just a few spoonfuls of the liquid and I was full!

Enjoy your mushies. I actually loved stage of my diet.

Take care.

I laughed to myself when I saw your post!! Today is my first day on pureed foods, and I too had egg whites!! I was so nervous that it wasn't going to sit well....but it did!! So what's the next food that you are going to try?! I think plain greek yogurt sounds good...I'll let you know!!

I'm going with cottage cheese for lunch.  Congrats on eggs doing well for you.  You never thought you'd be so happy to have some "real" food did you?

everybody posts that they eat egg whites, but the protein comes from the yolk, so if you are only eating one egg, shouldnt it be ok to eat regular eggs vs egg whites? just trying to learn before i move on to my soft foods phase....

My 3tbsp of egg beater egg whites had 5g of protein 0g of fat and 25 calories an egg has 70 calories 5g of fat and 6.2g of protein.  I'll take my egg whites.

Actually, the protein from eggs is in the whites; the yolk contains fats, vitamins and minerals.
