Gadgets You Couldn't Live Without
So I may be new to post surgery but I already have some gadgets I couldn't live without. I was wondering what yours are?
1) magic bullet blender
2) digital kitchen scale
3) Body Fat analyzer (it may not be 100% but it gives me an idea as I lose weight where I'm at and if there are any stalls it may make me feel better there as well)
4) Old fashioned fabric tape measure

All of the above except the body fat analyzer.
I would add a bazillion measuring cups and spoons. I weigh some things and measure others. I leave a tablespoon measure in the bag of each of two flavors of edamame (one at home, one at work). Got a scoop-style half-tablespoon measure that I use as portion control when I have peanut butter. Another half-tablespoon measure lives with the dark chocolate cocoa powder I use in shakes. A measuring cup at work for skim milk...I could go on and on.
Small dishes. If you look at dishes from the last century or very early this century, our plates are the size of their serving dishes. Their plates were actually the size of dessert/salad plates in most dish sets. We've started using much smaller dishes at our house. I use very small plates and bowls for myself.

Ditto on the measuring stuff & dishes! I have spoons hanging that are always at the ready, cups the same.. and I love collecting cool little plates and bowls now. I have a variety of pretty and small ones.. I have came close to taking them to friends as I feel so odd trying to eat off of a normal sized plate anymore.. Even my husband eats off of the med sized ones now and rarely reaches for the whopper plates! Boggles the mind that I used to fill almost all that space.
That's true. I'm finding a definite lack of tbsp around the house. I've been using my kids' plates and bowls but I guess at some point I should buy nicer stuff for myself.

The dollar store is your friend for measuring stuff.
The advantage to having a bunch is if you can dedicate one and leave it in the package you won't feel like you need to wa**** every time. I just wash the dedicated spoons once a week or so.
