Poll: PB2
I hear you. Fortunately, I only have me to worry about feeding so I don't mind spending a little more on my food. I used to eat out most of the time but since surgery I prepare most of my meals at home, rarely eating out, and that has saved me a ton of money. Still, I want every bit I paid for. So far, this cinnamon raisin bread is coming out okay - just dry when it thaws out.
I don't know why you wouldn't use the PB2 or the low carb high protein bread in the weight loss phase. I should still lose by keeping to a low calorie, low fat, low sugar, low carbs, and high protein meal plan. If I stop losing or my blood sugar goes up, then I'll delete that bread. I need the fiber and one slice has a day's worth in it, but I also want to lose the rest of my excess weight and keep my blood sugar maintained through diet.
I'll keep you posted as to how this bread and PB2 affect my weight loss and blood sugar control.

Love, Love, Love PB2!! Bought it at Good Nutrition.. like a PP, if you go to the website and click on "store locator" you can probably find a physical store close by. I use it in my shakes and it is great. I mix muscle mike, 1 scoop whey protein, and 2 Tbls of the PB2....
it's awesome.. so much so, that besides morning greek yogurt and herbal tea, I don't each much more than that. My protein drink takes care of all my needs! I try to squeeze in a little chicken or fish here and there... but it's still early in the game for me (I'm just 4 weeks out). My stomach can take about 2 or 3 Tbls of chicken, and that's it! I have a much easier time drinking the above shake than anything else.

I love PB2. Unbelieveable, but I am still in the liquid stage. My doctor keeps us here for 3 full weeks. Anyway, I feel like the pB2 is what has kept me sane, LOL! I put it in my chocoate shake, and just sprinkle some in my hand and eat it. Nummy! The way I look at it... if it is good for you, and nummy... price doesn't matter. We are worth it. :)

Good to hear about all the great uses for the PB2. I have some but have only used itt for an add in to a chololate shake and I really like that. But I have just found the Julian bread (I ordered it online, even though it's pricey), and I love the idea of toast with PB2 on top. The julian bread is so great - total carbs 12, protein 12, fiber 12. What's not to like?
My friend eats it and highly recommends it. He bought a case and split it with someone at work. He said he froze the bread and it lasts him 6 months. He bought his online through the PB2 website.
You can buy the samples from them. It is 2 slices for $4 shipped.
This is too pricey for cheap me, though. LOL

I tried the Julian Bakery Cinnamon Raisin #2 Bread toasted with 1/2 a tsp. of lightly slated butter, PB2 and cheese yesterday for brunch. My blood sugar is still good, I lost 0.6 lbs, and my guts thanked me for the fiber.
That bread is very dense and it felt like it took a long time to digest. Don't think I could handle a sandwich made with two slices of that bread. The bread is also pretty dry so it needs toppings or to be in soup or stew.
However, it is pretty tasty when doctored up a little and provides much needed fiber. At $8 a loaf and a field trip to get a couple of loaves, it is a little pricey.
Maybe my super cook, nutrition conscious daughter with the bread making machine will figure out how to make a similar bread for less for me and I can pick up the loaves when I visit with her or she can bring them to me.
