Will I reallly not be hungry with a VSG?

I've been trying lately to up my protein and lower my calories/carbs, and I just find it so hard to believe I won't be ravenous and miserable on only 800 calories or so.  2000 calories is hard for me!

I never lost my hunger, but am satisfied with much less.
It is false that everyone loses the hunger completely..

I am 2 months post op and still hungry, a coworker that is 4 months post op has had no hunger since the operation.  She has to remind herself to eat, I truly believe its based on the person!

I plan all my meals out so I know when I'm going to eat, makes it a bit better.

No, most folks do have hunger at some point.. anyone selling this surgery as a permanent cure for hunger is not being honest. A few very lucky ones don't have any.. I had some come back at 4 mo out.. and I now get hungry.. not the same level of intensity.. but more of a "normal" level.. and I kind of like it. I like food, I like to eat.. Iike to have normal signals when it's time.. I am far from miserable on 800 cal a day, it's what I average at 1yr out now!

I have not had urgent hunger since surgery, for me- more of a stomach grumbling I'm nibbly/hungry but not an "emergency" feeling like I had before. I also still forget to eat if I get busy.. it's not a constant thing.. just if I haven't eaten in 5hrs or more, then I get it. This is nothing like my past dieting, I would restrict down to 800 cals a day to lose.. and did it well.. but I white-knuckled it the entire time.. resorting to air-popped popcorn at night to quell the hunger before bed so I could sleep.. yeah, nothing like that.

My hunger is ...."hhmmm....my stomach feels empty followed by nausea."  It takes very little to "fill" my stomach up.  A bite or two usually.  I usually need to eat about out 2 or 3 hours through the day.  If I have hade dense protein, I can go about 4 hours.  I have yet to understand how I can function on less than 1000 calories.....but it works.

I am one of those that does not have hunger.  I woke up from surgery and it was just gone!  I am over 3 years out now and don't know if it will return.  I still have lots of restriction too.  So it's good to know that if the hunger does return someday, at least I get full fast.
