Yeah these were the worst weeks and i was one of those who had the surgery site pain so i was miserable but then it was like night and day and keep in mind i was one of the ones who loved my band but i felt more normal than i had in years after the initial post op slight crappiness.

My band did help me a lot, even if he was a pyscho!  Good to know you are happy and healthy now!

Hey Melly!! Ugh Drains are bad enough, but leaking makes it Sooo much more vivid!! I will have to have one, my surgeon does it on all sleeves and bypasses but only until you go home so two days! Yours, that is a LONG time!! As long as the drainage hasn't changed for the worse, foul odor, color or increases, it should be just fine! See, not much good comes from cleaning Good luck my friend!!!

All very good things to know.  No odor or weord colors, so I just deal with the PITA.  Thanks, Bud!!

The JP drain is a pain in the butt.  I didn' try to keep mine dry, and was told when showering, to let the water run over it as well as my incisions.  Today I got mine removed and it was not pleasant, but so glad it's over with and I feel so much better without the ball and chain.
Are you squeezing the bulb after you empty your drain, so it can suction the drainage into the bulb?

As unpleasant as having it removed will be, I am looking forward to it.  ha ha

I am squeezing the bulb.  Now that it's leaking, there isn't much at all collecting in the bulb.  Grrrr.  Thanks so much for the information!!
