How much time should I request off?

I had my surgery on Wed AM and was released Friday PM.  I asked off for 2 weeks but did not drink as instructed.  Therefore, I deleveloped kidney stones 2x which had to be operated on.  I also got dehydrated so I had to have home IV fluids for 3 days.  I ended up being off 9 weeks!  Not to scare you but it really is different for everyone.  PLEASE make sure you do what your doctor instructs you to do!

 I had surgery on 4/4 and returned to work 4/16. I have a desk job and have been fine. I could've gone back at one week out if I'd had to but agree that it depends on your surgical experience. I had no problems, had my follow- up appt on 4/12 and was cleared to drive and return to work then. Best of luck to you :) 

I had my surgery on Wed and went back to work Tues. I too am a cosmetologist. I can say it was tiring that first week. Today seems buch better!!!

I was sleeved on the 4th, and was really tired for a couple of days after.  I came back to work on th e16th and am doing fine!!  Not sore or anything!

I had my sleeve on the 3rd and by the 10th I felt I would be able to work. I stand all day long on a salesfloor. sitting is a luxury, leaning is more the issue. I had previously requested 2 weeks off and right now I am itching to get back to work. I go back this friday and may go back earlier simply because I am bored.

My doctor would have given me whatever time I needed, but due to my job responsibilties, I only asked for 2 weeks.  I also had a hiatial hernia repair along with my sleeve, and I went back to work Monday.  I've been a little tired, but other than that, for a desk job, I' ve done fine.

Yea, I am sure my Dr. will give me however much time off. But I think I am going to start with 2 weeks.

My job I sit at a desk all day so hopefully I should be fine!
