Looking at a weekend trip to Chicago. Where do you recommend to stay downtown? Favorite places to eat? Probably going to go to Shedd Aquarium & Museum of Science and Industry... other recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Wrigleyville is really fun!  I'm not a huge baseball fan but catching a game at Wrigley field was amazing!  Chicago is so fun, you really can't make a bad choice.

Navy Pier is a tourist site. The House of blues has a nice restuarant. There Jambalya and gumbo is to die for. Also look on goldstar.com they have some nice events that are inexpensive. groupon.com has a lot of restaurant local deals for the day. It's always something to do here. Have fun.

It's been many years, but my husband & I would do run away weekends a couple times a year to Chicago.. very familiar, or at least I was.. back then: Ride on the Windy at night (bring your own wine) and watch the fireworks.. We always stayed at the Swissotel, when we used to get killer rates.. Then things got really spendy and we started staying at the boutique Best Western, fun area..http://www.hawthorneterrace.com/

Emilios Tapas was always good for a nibble, better now as a sleever! www.emiliostapas.com/

Museum on University of Chicago campus, not to be missed: oi.uchicago.edu/museum/

International Museum of Surgical Science, yeah.. this is first for me.. I like this sort of stuff, loved picking my way through here: www.imss.org/

We used to eat at Torajiro Sushi, when it was a little hole in the wall, it was fantastic, way too fantastic for the price honestly.. it looks like they fancified, but it may still be great if it's the same folks..

When I had my stomach intact, we'd go here for a dinner and some wine.. and leave stuffed.. pasta, bread, olive oil, grappa... www.roseangelis.com/

Take a Segway tour.  There is a living Social deal I nearly bought today but you need to be under 250 to ride one.

That is one of my goals.
