Pulse in your stomach?
it is very unusual to feel a pulse in your abdomen at your weight. it is normal to feel a pulse on a very thin person. however if you feel a pulse, you should not push on it. you should call your primary care physician and tell them or go to the emergency room and tell them. actually feeling a pulse in your abdomen could be and I am not trying to alarm you I'm just saying that is a symptom of an aortic abdominal aneurysm. you should seek a physical examination by a physician to be certain. but do not have other people palpate your abdomen to try to also find/ feel this as this could cause a rupture. again, I'm not trying to alarm you, just seek medical advice from your primary care physician.
Just to let you know, I have always been able to feel that pulse even at my highest weight.. it really isn't uncommon.. and my Dr has checked me out before about it. He laughed and said you should be able to feel it.. granted when you're big, you have to press to feel it.. but ever lay on your belly, feel it? Normal.
Well, I just got off the phone with my doctor's office. Seems as though all is normal. Mind you when I was on my back my stomach is pretty flat now. So therefor you feel it. They said it is totally normal and if I wanted to come in and let the doctor check me out for the reassurance I could. I am fine, I feel great and also realized I have wrist bones......LOL I AM AN ALIEN!!!!! MUAHAHAHAHA
You most likely felt your aorta which runs through your abdomen into your femoral arteries then down your legs. It is the largest artery in your body so its not surprising that you can feel it if you feel around in your stomach area.
Sometimes feeling a bounding pulse there can mean the possibility of a AAA (abdominal aortic aneurysm) but that is most common in the elderly.
