It's a small device that tracks your steps . It uses wii technology so it is very accurate. It also counts how many stairs or hills you go up and down.
It's web site for tracking is free... The best part for my now is I can link to to my fittnesspal and it shows how many calories I am burning just from walking.
Go to fitbit.com for more info... My husband found mine on ebay for 71.00 usually they are 100.00.
I was looking in to the body bugg when I came across this..
LOVE IT!!

I have the FitBit Ultra and love it. I attach it to the collar of my shirt.

Things it does:
- Tracks Steps
- Tracks Stairs
- Sleep Patterns ( Love this because it tells me when I move or wake up at night )
- Accurate
- Knows difference between resting calorie burn to exercise calorie burn
- Can link it to MyFitnessPal and it will add your total exercise calorie burn for the day to MFP without you having to do anything.
- Gets smarter the more you use it and challenges you more as you progress
- Earn badges when you hit certain thresholds
- Hook the usb adapter to your computer and install the computer. When you are near it, it will automatically sync your totals to the FitBit website using bluetooth technology.
- Battery lasts 3 days and charges in about 90-120 minutes
- You can view your progress by pressing a button that is on the fitbit.
- Sends you weekly emails on your progress and you can track it week to week from their website if you want.

I love mine and use it everyday. It really helps you see your activity level for the day and motivate you to do more. It does not track bicycle riding, stair stepper, etc as it uses an accelerometer to count but it does do everything pretty accurately.

I love the fitbit. I actually use the web site to track my food too.
Ryan did a nice summary of it's abilities but forgot to mention that if you forget to take it off your clothing after working out....it gets washed. LOL

But on a better note, WHEN that happens, customer service will send you a new one.
WORD

I love mine because it tracks my exersize without me having to figure it out.

If you do get one, I think we can link up on the site so we can follow each other or something like that. Not sure how that works though.

You know what?

I like you.  I'm in a bad mood, and I just came across this post.

You just got to your goal weight.  I have a fitbit ultra that I used to use, but I have 'graduated' past it now that I'm in my 5K phase.  You want it, it's yours.

I've had my fitbit for over a year and half, it truely is an amzing little gadget.  I use the food tracking on the fitbit site instead of fitness pal.  There is an option to purchase a premium membership (45.00) for a year. This allows you to set up 12 week goals.

I now have 5 friends that have purchased a  fitbit.  It is awesome to have competitiions between them.  My original one broke 2 weeks ago so I bought a replacement at Best buy.  I also purchased the $14.95, 2 year insurance policy in case I should drop and break or lose in the toliet.

Good luck!
