Rant

Just a little rant that made my day..... I saw my primary doc today for the first time since surgery. He was pleased at my weightloss so far and was very happy with my blood pressure ( I've been off BP meds for 3 weeks.).
He admired me for my decision to go thru with the surgery and said I was very brave.
He said he wishes that more of his other Morbidly obese patients consider WLS.
MY journey hasn't been all roses BUT..... I am happy about my decision,.

That is great!!  It is something to admire.  You had a health problem, a disease and you took a pro active step to fight back.  You didn't just sit back and let food and your weight over take you.  You are a fighter!  We all are!

One thing I promised myself I would never be is ashamed of this surgery.  I never hid it, and I have been 100% open.  Treating obesity is no different than treating any other life threatening disease.  No one should be ashamed for taking the appropriate actions for getting healthy.

Congrats girl!

Congrats on being off your blood pressure medication!  That is so exciting!  More people might consider WLS if more doctors were supportive and treating obesity as a disease.  Maybe your doctor will be able to encourage his other patients.  I feel like although WLS is getting more common/accepted people still have many misconceptions.

I think he will try to convince other patients. He has a very kind heart.  I went to him for the speciffic reason to have wls because my original primary Doc wasn't for it. I think a lot of Doctors aren't  well educated about wls . They just treat the patient as things pop up...awwww.
