Thanks for the info! As a previous RNY revised to a sleeve specifically to get my pyloric valve back in action, I know first hand how important this is!!Because my initial surgery bypassed the valve my blood sugar would bottom out to critcal levels after eating- no fun! So far so good for me but the true test will be when I am on a completely normal diet again. My progression is much slower this time!! But I'm not complaining!!

Is satiety the only reason to hold food in the stomach area for longer periods?  If the food moved through the pyloric valve into the small intestine quickly, do you still get all the benefits of the nutrients?  I understand about the pressure valve thing as just ONE bite too much will trigger foamies/frothies for me but I have learned the signals and it almost never happens now.  But I drink quite soon after meals -- I LIKE my liquids post-meal.  This one thing drives me nutzo.  Drinking sooner doesn't seem to bother anything for me, and since I never have a feeling of hunger anyway, extending satisfaction is not a huge issue.  Just curious if there are other reasons or if it is just a satiety issue.

Thanks for all your sage wisdom for those of us who are newer to this journey.  It's greatly appreciated!

I chose the sleeve over the bypass so I could keep my pyloric valve!
