An extreme low carb diet is not a long term maintenance plan but it does make you lose the weight faster which is proven over and over on this board. If you up your carbs your weight loss will slow down. In maintenance most i have noticed including myself start eating about 100 healthy carbs a day. Your goal obviously after wls is to lose as much as you can as quickly as possible. Even through exercise and the cravings i stuck with 30-40 carbs a day and below 800 cal. I was 385 when I started this plan and got to 200 in 10.5 months. I would personally cut the carbs through your losing phase to maximize the weight loss. Cravings stink but being overweight is worse imho and since you went to the extreme of wls i would tend to think you agree.

I strongly suggest you talk with MacMadame - I believe she's got quite a bit to say about this, and mostly from experience.
