I did it!!!!! Major NSV
I made it through my first dance recital in 43 years this weekend!!!!! We had a ball and my 2 girls danced beautifully! My best friend came from MA to watch - I hadn't seen her in 3 years and it meant so much. She was thrilled at my weight loss. At last year's recital, which was a few weeks before my surgery, when I saw women in my age range on stage, I decided to challenge myself to be there with them the next year. I had always regretted quitting dance when I was 14, because it wasn't "cool" back then. I didn't realize, though, until this weekend how much I missed dancing. Without this surgery and getting my life back, I wouldn't have ever been able to return to dance. I'm exhausted today, but on a high! Can't wait until dance starts up again in September!!!!

AWESOME!!!!
it's amazing the things we let go over time, due to weight gain and just not feeling as comfortable in our skin. i'm so glad you've had a chance to get back to something you love - because it's those things that make life most enjoyable. and let's face it - life is too short not to love, to laugh, to dance, to play, to enjoy, to drink it in and share. sooooo proud of you - and encouraged to find that thing i loved and let go. :-)

Thanks for the kind words! This surgery does give lots of hope for all of us. So good to see some fellow Mainers on this forum! I actually live in the Waterville area. I had been going to support groups up at EMMC, but the program started another satellite group at Inland in Waterville, so I've been going there. Are you in the Bangor area?
