Carb cycling

I have 30 more pounds to go to get to goal. I am not the best at getting water in, but I probably get about 50-60 oz a day. I am on my feet all day long, running around. When I get home, I literally cant move. On the days when I feel a little better, I get to the gym. But, usually my legs are so sore I cant do it. When I was about 3 or 4 weeks into the stall, I decided to try exercise to break out of it. I went to the gym almost every day and worked out like crazy and still did not lose at all. After that I firgured there was no point in pushing myself to the point of collapsing if it wasnt even going to work. I have tried everything to get out of this. I would focus on weight training. Focus on a specific muscle group, say Arms are day 1, do bicep, tricep, shoulders/back workouts then day 2 do legs, and lower body stuff. I never did much cardio to be honest. I never "run" do the treadmill, ellipticals were invented by the devil himself. I loved Hip Hop Abs at home for ab/core workouts because situps and crunches were invented by the devil's twin.
Again, I'm not saying don't do it, maybe add some fruit somewhere, but I wouldn't add in any sort of simple carbs.

During the losing phase, I believe that consistency is key i.e. low carbs, high protein. This worked for me. Where carb cycling can be helpful, is to break through plateaus and to lose a few pounds towards the end of weight loss or during maintenance. There is research that backs this up, and body builders and fitness people have been doing this for years. It all depends upon how carb sensitive one is, as to how many carbs one handle. Some people are extremely insulin resistance, thus carb sensitive.

The idea has some merits, as most stalls come from glycogen starvation the time it takes to rebuild those stocks and the water to keep it in solution. Like the others, I never played the wig wag game, but I also never played the ultra low carb game, either, keeping a more consistent nutritional balance throughout (typically 70-100g carb, 120 or so later in the loss phase as exercise intensity picked up,) and never had any significant stalls. Presumably, I never went into glycogen starvation mode, but maintainted a more consistent fat burn by simple caloric deficit. Note, however, that the Atkins style diet might yield quicker loss (that's the hypothesis at least) despite the stalls, but I sure didn't want to lose any faster than I did.
