FWIW, I was at 7 weeks yesterday and have lost 23.5 lbs. I'd be jumping for joy if I'd lost 35 lbs. already.

You're doing great. Try not to compare yourself to others, keep doing what you've been doing, and if it helps, consider where you'd be today if you hadn't had the surgery. That always helps put things in perspective for me.

Okay, okay so I TOTALLY know how you feel! I lost 30 pounds and then from weeks 3-7 I didn't lose ANYTHING....Buuut, when I I did start losing again it seemed like it dropped wuickly, I lost another 15 pounds since then and I am about 9 weeks out. Be patient, cause otherwise you will start feeling like a failure and your motivation to work out or eat healthy might be lessened. Gud luck, you will do fine!

I know exactly how frustrated you are.  First of all, you are doing great! But, everyone says 5 ibs a week! thats awesome! I agree, it would be awesome if it was 5 ibs a week.  But, that is averaged out, and when you lose it all in the first 2 weeks and then go 5 weeks (or in my case almost 8 weeks) without seeing a change at all in the scale and you are doing everything they told you to do, it is the most frustrating thing in the world.   INmy case, I posted after not losing for 2 weeks and people said that this is normal, and everyone has a 3 week stall.  So, I kept waiting patiently for 3 weeks to pass and still nothing.  Then another 3 weeks and nothing.  I went almost 2 months with my only drop being with pre-op diet and 2 weeks post op.  So, I got fed up and posted for help.  The only thing I heard that I was not yet doing was to make sure carbs stay below 40 grams.  With the carbs in vitamins, that left me with 30 grams for the whole day.  I started this 2 days ago.  The first day I gained .5 ibs.  The second day (today) I dropped 2 and finally broke past the number I kept stalling at! I have never been so happy!!! Granted, it has only been 2 days (and keeping that low in carbs is extremely difficult), but if its working, I will do it.  So, with that long ramble, my best advice to you is to decrease your carbs to 40 and count every single thing that goes into your mouth.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

Okay, Sad Sleever,
I lost 35.5 pounds my first 8 weeks post VSG. I was thrilled! I was averaging 4.5 pounds per week. That's pretty slick in my opinion - especially considering my weight loss history.

Relax. The weight will come off. Must not compare yourself to others. It will drive you crazy!

I know you're frustrated. I get it. We all want the weight off yesterday!

Advice: Look carefully at your food intake. I just went back and reviewed my history from about 7 weeks out. Your calorie average is higher than mine was at that point. I was mostly around 500-550 with an occasional blip up to 600-650. My protein level at that time was also between 70-80 grams per day.

Here's a typical day for me back then:

Breakfast 1:
GNC Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 Shake with 1% milk (1 scoop, 8 oz milk)
Breakfast 2:
Jimmy Dean Jimmy Dean Skinless Turkey Breakfast Sausage Link (1 link)
Egg Beaters Egg Beaters Original (1/4 cup)
Lunch:
Protein Coffee
      Black Coffee (decaf) (12 oz)
Almond Breeze Almond Milk Original (1/4 cup)
Torani Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup (2 TBS)
GNC Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60 (1 scoop)
Dinner:
Rosarita Traditional Refried Beans (1 TBS)
Jennie-O Ground Turkey Taco Seasoning (2 oz)
Weigh****chers Shredded Mozzerella Cheese Reduced Fat (1/2 oz)

Hope that helps.
