It's Done!

I am officially sleeved!  My husband and I left our home around 4 am and were at the hospital by 5:30.  My in-laws stayed overnight so that they could watch our two (almost 5 year old and 19 month old) kids while I'm in the hospital.  What a blessing to have their help.  It was hard to leave my babies behind, but a big part of me choosing this new way of life is for them.  I just have to keep reminding myself of that.

My surgery went off without a problem.  When i woke up my throat really hurt and I was sore.  I have struggled a bit with nausea and actually threw up just prior to going into the operating room.  I don't know if it was nerves, the effects of a nasty med I had taken earlier or a combination of the two.  Whatever the case, I'm glad it was before they cut me up rather than after!

Ive been able to get up and walk a couple of times and that has definitely helped with the discomfort. I am finally able to start some fluids.  I have had such a dry mouth today! I've also been resting/sleeping quite a bit.  I don't have a private room so there are quite a few people coming through here.

I hope all of today's VSGers are doing well and all the best who are coming up soon!

I hope all t

LOL, I was really out of it all morning but the effects of the anasthesia and the other drugs are finally wearing off .  I am on morphine which is really helping to ease the pain and I'm feeling more human again. ;)

Woohoo Congratulations and like Jessica I'm amazed you're able to type so rationally.  My first post op posting read like it was typed by a bird or something but not an english speaking human but in the moment I thought it was brilliant LOL!! (don't laugh!) You're doing great!
