I take the time to make the few foods I can enjoy and because of the stupid wait time between bites my food keeps getting cold. Cold refried beans (veg -fat free) and cheese SUCKS. Now I have to get up and go reheat my food.

Yep, but that won't last forever. Eventually you'll eat more at one time and wish for your "food to get cold" again Enjoy each step of the way!

I don't know what the official name for them is, but my wife (an experienced WLS vet from years ago,) got me one of those flat cast iron skillets that the Mexican restaurants serve fajitas on. Pop it in the hot over for a few minutes and then serve then place your (oven safe) dish or plate of slow consumption WLS food on it - keeps it hot pretty much thru the entire extended meal time.

Another idea - we used to have a bread basket that came with a long piece of marble - put the marble in the oven, then put it in a cloth napkin along with the bread (with a napkin layer in between) to keep it hot. Maybe you can find a small flat piece of marble (or a tile) at a home store and place it on a pot holder with your plate or dish on top of it.
