Surgery canceled
It's official my Surgery on July 2 has been canceled. I recieved my denial letter yesterday.
My advice to you all that are still in the process:
Know what your insurance requires. And if someone at the surgeons office tells you anything different insist they call the insurance co. again and request the info specific to your plan.
I repeatedly told my surgeons office that My insurance required 6 months of NUT visits. They insisted that it was 4 months. Well yes Aetna requires 4 months but my husbands specific plan requires 6 months. So i was denied because of this.
Also my plan requires me to have a bmi of 35 or great for 5 years. If my Dr. in another state sends them my records i might get lucky and have 5 years. If they dont send it i dont know what will happen.

you can look at it as the glass is half full.. you "only" need to fufill whats left of the requirement...another 2 months of NUT classes and to get medical records from elsewhere to show BMI for last 5 years... as disappointing as a denial is, sounds to me like the rest of the leg work will be a PIECE OF CAKE!!
