I have lost 50 pounds total since December (about 12 since surgery 6/21), and went to LB the other day for a new pair of shorts. I was kind of upset that I was only down 1 size. What the heck?!? But then my watch fell off the other day - slid right over my hand, and it dawned on my that I am losing weight all over, not just my waist.
So I know the sizes today are much bigger than they were years ago, but I think we all also lose weight in different places after surgery. Apparently, my wrists look amazing! Hah!

I'm going to have to go back and try and see what LB size I'm in. I know last month it was an 18. I think you are right though. I have lost a lot in my butt and legs so maybe that's it? I still have a lot of upper body stuff to lose. Your hilarious by the way! lol wrists. It will all come off eventually right? We just gotta keep trying. Only losing 31 pounds since surgery has me a little bit frustrated but the size thing makes me happy!
i don't mean this to burst your bubble or anything, but the reason that you never wore a 16W at 241 lbs is because the 16W now is different from the 16W you wore before.. there are no standards in womens' clothing sizes, so the manufacturers can call them pretty much whatever size they want -- and most of the time they do it to play mind games with us... we think we are smaller because we fit into a smaller size... "vanity sizing" -- makes us feel better so we will buy more, or so they think....
i have a simplicity dress pattern from 1952 in a size 12 (got it from a antique/collectible store)... i compared the body measurements on the pattern to the size chart on simplicity's current website... that 1952 size 12 would be a size 6 today....
try not to get too wrapped around the axle on clothing sizes and just wear what fits and flatters you... and keep doing what you're doing... you are rocking your sleeve!

Oh yes it's vanity sizing for sure lol. If you look at the pattern measurements from Vogue I think they'd be more like your size 12 from 1952. lol and it was 16W. lol but I was a 22W and they were giant...lol no bubble bursting here..I know I know but still a huge difference.
