One week out and a Happy Camper!

Well, it's taking me a few days, but I know that these aren't fat pounds -- glad you got rid of yours quickly.  Takes time -- be patient with yourself -- our tummys are kind PO'd at us right now LOL

We're going to do just fine!

Glad things are going uphill for you!! I wanted to share that I gained 8 pounds of water in the hospital and when I left I was still 4 pounds above my starting weight. I lost it all the next day and have now lost a total of 20 pounds in 8 days. I think it went away right after I could move around and I wasn't in the hospital anymore. I hope the same for you! Good luck! We're sleeve buddies!

Thank you!  I know things are going to be a little slower for me due to my advanced age (doctors are soooooooo kind sometimes LOL), plus this additional surgery -- not moving quite as much as I might without it, but it made sense to do both at the same time. 

I'm impressed with your weight loss -- keep up the good work!  Yes, we are sleeve buddies -- seems like June was a popular month!  So is July from what I've seen -- so many are scheduled.  This is just the greatest -- I wish everyone could be this happy!

It's strange that before surgery, I was happy as hell when someone suggested the chinese buffet for dinner.  Now I'm even more happy with a few bites of Jello for dinner.  Amazing.

I'll bet your 'advanced age" won't stop you from darn near anything.  You will be running circles around 20-somethings before you know it!!  Yes doctors - they are the best at sparing feelings ha ha.

Yep, I'm a bit of a Pollyanna sometimes -- if I had a decent voice, I'd be singing that ever-popular "I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony...." 

I know what you mean about the change in attitude about food.  My sugar-free jello is wonderful.  And since I got approved for full liquids yesterday, I just wallow in the glory of my Premier Protein shakes!  Hubby stopped at McDonald's on the way home from my appointment and got a Big Mac with fries and a vanilla shake.............I wanted to hang that stuff out the window so I didn't have to smell it.  A month ago I'd have stuck my nose in the bag -- yesterday...........YUCKOOO!!!

As for my age, I'll be 65 at the end of this month, so I can't fault my surgeon's comment LOL  Not sure I'll run circles around anyone these days, but for an old warhorse, I don't do too badly!  My sons are always telling me to slow down -- not sure if I'm too energetic or they are a couple of sloths LOL LOL LOL

You have a great attitude and your sweet personality comes through with glitter and sparkles!  What a joy you are!  Keep on workin' that sleeve!

Ree...My goodness...From your picture, I never would have thought you were 65...I thought you were in your 30's! I am 59 (closer to 60, than 59). I am so glad to see their other gals in my age range having the VSG. I will be following your posts and progress closely. :-)

OMG, thank you so much!  That pic is about 3 years old.  I have been blessed with a round face and, until recently, nice hair, so with some help from chemicals, the color stays "youngish" and with it being long, maybe that helps a bit.  I know that the round face thing might take a hike once the weight loss starts, but everything else has sagged south already LOL LOL LOL

I'm so disgusted with hair right now.  I've had every test there is except for an enlarged prostate (okay, that was uncalled for LOL) and they can find no reason for my hair loss (stemming back to about 2 years ago).  I can't image what it will be like once the VSG hair loss starts!  I'll face it when i comes, just like everyone else. 

You're right -- finding folks in this age bracket is great!  I was feeling very alone among those who are my children's ages LOL

Yep, I'll celebrate my one month surgiversary and my 65th birthday on the same day!  Pretty cool, I think!
