Gaining Weight

Hang in there.  You will not be able to fix the eating in one day or a few weeks.  Preop I started trying to pull the weight off 4 months before surgery.  The first month I didn't lose a pound, but was happy at least I didn't gain.  Second month still no loss despite doing a few weeks of perfect diet as outlined by the nutritionist and implementing exercise (at least a tiny bit).  Still progress though in that my eating was a little better and the exercise started.  In the third month I finally saw a little come off, eating kept improving (although horrible by my standards today) and exercise was increasing a bit more.  The final month before surgery finally some weight started to come off and I remember being amazed that I was able to tell the nutritionist I was exercising and hour and half to two hours a week.  That was serious progress at that point.  Now, it is routine for me to exericise and hour and a half to two hours a day-  it does get better.  Just focus on making small imrovements each day and take a moment to recognize where the improvement is.  Keep setting mini goals and working on cleaing up the eating habits and increasing exercise.  You can do this!
