First day of full liquids- I need some advice
I am 8 days post-op. I started my full liquids today. I have some questions on the schedule. According to the binder from my surgeon's office, I can have 2-3 tablespoons of yogurt, soup, etc....about every 4 hours, along with other liquids throughout the day. Do I just do that on a schedule? Right now I feel something like fullness when I eat. Does that mean I don't need to eat? Have I overeaten? When during the day should I fit in a protein shake to get more protein? This all seems so clear until you are actually doing it! Please let me know what worked for you. Thanks!
Full liquids for me translated to nursing a protein shake until I got it down (took me forever starting out... like two hours) and sipping on clears the rest of the time, with an occasional sf pudding cup. I didn't have an exact schedule really, but I knew I needed to get in at least two shakes a day (or whatever gets you to at least 60 grams of protein), so I focused on those and the fluids, and then if I felt hungry I would reach for the pudding to tide me over until the next shake.
It looked something like this:
7-9 am (whenever I got up): start protein shake
-sip sip sip until mid afternoon
-eat a few bites of pudding mid afternoon
-protein shake at dinner time
-sip sip sip until bedtime
That doesn't quite match what your instructions say, but it's what worked for me. Hope that helps!

Hi Kabooboo!
I think we're sleeve sisters, right? I'm on my second day of full liquids. I take a third of a protein shake for breakfast -- takes about 45 minutes to get that down, then repeat at lunch, and finish that shake for a snack. I have a tablespoon of sugar-free jello whenever the mood hits me, then work on a second shake for dinner and my evening snack. When not having shakes and jello, I'm constantly sipping my water. Basically, it's a 6 times a day plan with a minimum of 60 grams of protein and 64 ounces of fluid........I can count my shakes as part of the required fluid intake -- not sure that's the case with all shakes, though.
Hope you're feeling well and having an easy time healing!
