Has anyone eaten instant mashed potatoes during the mushy stage?

I haven't had surgery yet but my friend did 5 weeks ago she ate instant mashed potatoes and she would put unjury chicken soup protein in for flavor as well.

I used them to thicken soups a bit while I was in full fluids. Now that I'm in mushies I'm trying to get more of my protein through my food, so haven't been eating them. I like the previous poster's idea of flavouring them with high protein chicken broth though - I think I'll give that a try!

For me those starchs just make me hungrier. That early out the last thing you need is to have your body crying for more. Not worth it in my opinion.

I ate mashed potato and instead of using water I used chicken broth.

I ate instant mashed potatoes in the mushy stage.  I mixed with roast beef and gravy in the blender or chicken and broth in the blender.  As little as you can eat at one meal, I don't think the carbs are harmful.

Nope. I didn't do it considering there is zero nutritional value to instant mashed potatoes. There are too many protein-dense and rich foods to eat in mushies to even bother eating mashed potatoes.

Too much salt, and the carbs can give you cravings....

I nuked a baked potato until it was super soft, mashed it up w/a little skim milk, and then mixed it with fat free Greek yogurt. I also mixed the yogurt w/Hidden Valley Ranch mix and used that to mix in with some potato. But I didn't do potato often. It made me really thirsty and unless you're adding the Greek yogurt for protein...you're not getting any good nutrition by eating them.
