Hi all!  2+ years out and starting to get lax especially with vitamins, water, vitamins recommendations.  So please remind me what the general recommendations are, especially for those of us further out.

I don't think they ever change, although they adjust based on you labs. 2 adult multis, 1500 of calcium citrate (500 at a time, at least 2 hours apart), iron as needed (taken separate from calcium), sublingual B12 as needed.

The only thing that has changed is my calcium requirement and that's because I eat hoards of dairy. I'm only required to take 500-1000mg of calcium citrate versus 1500mg during my losing stage.

2 good quality, adult mulit vitamins with iron (if we still have a uterus)
B12 (since we're missing the intrinsic factor of the stomach it's not absorbed in swallowed form) sublingual, nasal spray or injectable is recommended (the dose and frequency depends on each individual labs and necessity) I'm pregnant so I have to take it every day for the baby, for maintenance I take 3-4 times a week.

Calcium Citrate 500-1500mg per dietary intake and doctor recommendation.

In the UK we tend to only take multivitamins.  In the US I believe you follow the RnY guidelines.  2.5 years post op and taking a multivitamin a day.  All stats within normal limits.

Actually, we(most U.S. patients) follow closer to the LapBand guidelines.

VSG is 100% daily recommended for a multi with iron

Gastric Bypass is recommended to have a minimum of 200% the daily value due to malabsorption.

My program's protocol:

2 multi vites daily

B1 - 100 mg
D3 - 2000 iu
Calcium Citrate 1500 mg daily (500 mg spread out over 3 x a day at least two hours apart and  not within in 2 hours of the multi vites)

B12 -sublingual- minimum of 3500 mcg per week (I take 2500 mcg twice a week)

My levels are fantastic.

I have to admit, I'm sort of OCD about the whole vitamin thing and take extra c, fish oil, L-carnatine for amino acid absorption, etc.....
