Endoscopy tomorrow
I had mine last Wed. And I too was so freaked out. I mean to the point were I thought I would cancel the whole surgery because of how scared I was for the endoscope. But it turned out to be NOTHING. It was like a great nap. I was in the GI part of the hospital for a total of 2 hours but most of that was prep stuff and waiting around for my turn. One they started to sedate me it was over and I was heading home in like 45 minutes. I woke up while being wheeled into the recovery room and asking,"that was it?" The nursed laughed and said,"that's it." I fell back asleep for maybe 10 more minutes, the nurse gave me some apple juice. My throat did not hurt at all, I was worried about that. I left and my mom and I want out to lunch. I was a little tired the rest of the day, kinda felt like you do when you only get a few hours of sleep at night. And by early evening I felt totally normal again. It really no big deal.

I had my consult on 7/24 where I had blood drawn and haven't had any other appointments. I was surprised when I received a call last week scheduling an endoscopy next Tuesday but they said it was part of the pre op procedure. I just didn't expect it to be first, figured it would be a couple months away or right before surgery.
Do doctor's normally do this procedure first to make sure there are no problems?
