Stall Breaking
Well, if it makes you feel any better, I am in the same boat. About 3 months out and haven't lost much in the last month. Maybe this is just why we have this support group...patience is not my virtue and I too have hypothyroidism...but it is normalized with meds. typically your dose would go down as you lose weight, so it isn't the thryoid if your TSH is in target range...usually 1-2.
So, hope you are are successful. I am hanging there wih you...

I feel like the stall queen. I get discouraged but sticking to plan is key. Every single time I hit a stall though by body starts dropping inches. So I bet you are losing inches!! I constantly think that "this is it" my body won't let me lose more and then eventually the scale moves.
Sometimes I have the thoughts....well why did I do this. Had I worked hard I could have done this w/ out surgery. Then I remember that if that were really the case then I would have never been 354 lbs. I am doing fabulous and it's coming off at the pace that is what my body wants. It didn't take me 6 months to gain this much weight and it will not come off that fast either.
It's going to keep going down as long as you stay on plan. Make sure you are getting in protein and water. For me water is the big thing. If I don't get in enough then I will NOT lose jack.
Good luck and try to stay optimistic. **hugs**

I stalled out too. My surgery was 06/25 and I lost 30 on the pre-op, 25 in the first two weeks post-op...then.......crickets.......and more.....crickets........ for a MONTH!!!! Nothing.... THEN I started to gain....talk about whoa!!! I was crazy scared something weird was going on...no, it was just my friend Flo, who hadn't visited in a while, and when she left town, so did those five pounds I gained. By the time I went to the doctor Tuesday, I had only lost 2 lbs since my las post op-visit. I have lost two more since then....I hope this pattern continues...
Point is, as many people have pointed out to me while I was crying over the stall, and they have commented here, stalls are normal. They are just designed to make you crazy!! Have fun!!
Really though, lots of luck to you!! I hope this stall breaks for you soon!

In the beginning I lost a little each day or every other day. By the third month I turned into a stair step loser, and initially is freaked me out a tad. I think deep down I was just really scared that the losing was over. No loss for a couple weeks, but I lost inches. Then, the weight dropped 10 pounds in a week. Back to another strech of no pounds loss, then a sudden drop. Now in the 8th month I am used to it, and my monthly weight loss rate has been just fine. I just think of the streches of no loss as practice for maintence where I need to be used to seeing the same (or very near same) weight day in and day out :)

Maybe it will help to know that I only lost 11 pounds my first five weeks...and the weight has only come off in 1-2 pound/wk increments since then. It has been very slow-going for me and I don't have hypothyroidism or PCOS. However, I did loose 65 pounds in the eight months prior to surgery...so I think my body was slowing down anyway in terms of weight loss.
Some of us just take our time...we loose very slowly! I try to look at the good side of things...I don't feel panicked because nothing fits me and I can usually put together an outfit without having to go to the store every other week
Saves me a bit on the clothes budget because I buy smaller and then just gradually ease into it and no one notices quite as much.
I know how frustrating it is...so I won't attempt to try and console you with platitudes. Just the hope that you will find some good in this "waiting" time.
Peace and joy...

Starting weight can be a contributing factor, but isn't necessarily an ultimate predictor.
A friend and I had the same surgery with the same dr, me a day before her. She's ten years older than me and had less to lose than I did (we were the same weight, but she is taller than me by a good five inches). All of those factors would suggest that I should be losing faster than her... but it didn't work that way.
Up until fairly recently, she was consistently a good ten pounds ahead of me in amount lost. Then she stalled a bit and I "caught up" to her temporarily... she's probably ahead of me again now lol.
Note that I'm not upset about any of this at all... the only reason I know how she does is because we talk to each other about it all the time, since we have it in common lol. She's losing the way her body loses, and I'm losing the way my body loses, and I have no doubt we'll both make it to goal because we're both determined. In the end, that's what's important- we're both getting healthy and heading in the right direction.
One more thing: I have learned the hard way that I cannot predict my losses. The minute I assumed that losing 3 pounds a week was my standard, it slowed to about two pounds a week. Then it picked back up again out of nowhere. So now, instead of trying to learn my body's patterns, I'm just going to be happy for now that my loss is faster again, and enjoy it while I can.
Even if you do end up consistently losing 1-2 pounds a week, it's better than the alternative of not losing, right?
Hang in there. You're doing great!
