Do I deserve more...

Thanks Maria!!! And you're welcome!!!
You're absolutely right - no need to rush. I'm a type-A planner personality - I'm always getting ahead of myself. Counting the cost, calculating the risk, worrying about the outcome, etc. I have to renew my mind daily to the fact that - it's gonna be okay. Nothing has to be decided in this moment and I don't have to allow opportunities to overwhelm me. This whole process has helped me gain control in this area of my life and I don't want to relinquish that control now. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Seeing
One question...............do you deserve to get yeast infections or rashes due to the sagging skin?
Big DUH question, right?
YES YES YES you DO deserve to have the skin surgery. Not yet -- you said you have more to lose -- the wait won't hurt anything -- and maybe you'll get some tightening of some of the skin.
Even so, for many reasons, you should go ahead and be good to yourself and have that surgery when the time is right. Besides, we're GIRLS - we're supposed to be a little vain! LOL
Good luck.................and keep us posted please

Hi Italian-Princess!! You're right - I definitely don't want rashes and infections - and to be honest - I just don't want sagging skin. lol. I may need to keep rehearsing that fact until I can take that next step - how do I avoid or get rid of it. I think time will definitely do the trick - and maybe time will be the best answer for that.
Of course you deserve it, but are you emotionally ready for it? That's the question. Plastics can be a real roller coaster ride emotionally. We have so many expectations and ideas about what our bodies "should" look like. You deserve all good things that this world has to offer you. You have been a hero on so many fronts now. Wait until you feel like you are really ready for this, and tackle this challenge too. But don't ru**** take your time, think things through, there is no hurry. Thank you for your service to our country, you are deeply appreciated.

Hi Elina_7!
I'm definitely not ready today - lol. I didn't have this much anxiety and apprehension when I decided to have my VSG. And that could be the problem - I knew for a long time I needed and wanted help with my eating/weight gain issues. I had researched and researched and researched and talked about it and talked about it and talked about it until I had total confidence this was what I should do. So maybe I need to go back to what I know I need - time, research and counsel - always leads to a sound decision. Thanks so much for sharing with me - everyone's posts have helped me to look at things from a different perspective, which is what I really needed. :-)

You do deserve to have plastics, if it is something that you want. Plastics is another journey, and for me, it has also been an emotional one. You may not be ready for it, but there isn't any hurry and you have time to re-evaluate the situation as you get further out. A year ago, I wasn't ready, but I am getting closer to the decision to have it done. You deserve to be the best that you can be, and if that means plastics, then go for it. You are WORTHY!!! I understand how it can be unnerving, but it will improve the quality of your life, both physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Thank you for your service to our country.

I'm with everyone else - yes you deserve it, and you should take the time to make sure you're comfortable with maintenance and with the actuality of plastics afterward.
For me, it's not about the vanity - that would be the Botox I'm considering for my crows feet.
Look at it this way - we do all this work - we go through the process, have major surgery, learn how to eat like a normal person, spend hours at the gym, etc. If I can't get into a shirt with fitted sleeves because of extra arm skin, that excess arm skin is so coming off!

ROFL!!! You're right - it may be the fact that I haven't hit goal yet. So the idea of 'reward' before accomplishment could be holding me back. I've read a little bit about the experience and how painful it can be - so that's another aspect I need to wrap my head around. Thanks for your response. :-)

Doesn't that just suck!!!! lol. The trimming down is obvious - but the muscle tone and excess skin have a mind of their own. This whole process has given me great material for teaching my kids about actions/consequences and delayed gratification. lol!!!
The one thing I've had to consider that I absolutely never thought I would is... I'm getting older - lol!!! Everything doesn't bounce back like it use to - and when it does bounce it's not always in the right place. lol!!!
