Hello Margaret, Indeed Im pretty excited I found a fellow vet on hear who went throught the va for their procedure, and thank you for the kind words and encouragment as well!!!

Best of luck with your visit on the 25th , I hope all goes well. Im not sure who will be doing my surgery, my case manager is Lydia. I have to agree every single person I met at the Bronx va were extreemly friendly and just all around a pleasure to deal with and very welcoming.

Ill have to make a blog for fellow vets so we can all unite lol

I love that idea of a blog! There's surprising little information out the availability of this procedure and how to get started. When I initially met with my VA PCP she wasn't even aware they still offered it. It's so important to get this type of information out there, as well as support and encourage each other through the process. Please keep me posted - I'd love to be a part of that.

Well I think I will go ahead and make the blog, I may wait till after my surgery (which should be soon!!! fingers crossed). I have my very last appointment Oct 9th, nutrition @9am, psych eval @ 1:30pm, f/u with surgeon to set the date @ 2pm all on the same day!!! From what they told me yesterday there is not a real wait for a date, i should be able to get scheduled the next available surgery date!!! pretty excited, but it still seem a little sureal, like until i have the date/are laying in the bed getting sedated then Ill know I finally made it lol. As far as the blog goes I will definitely keep you posted.

Your right in a lot of ways there is not much info on what benefits vets are entitled too, and since I work for the va I wish I knew back then what I know now I even went on fb a few times and made posts for all my friends who are out or in the military still if they ever have any questions on benefits/compensation claims etc to let me know so I can spread the word. The military does not tell you even a quarted of what you are entitled too when you get out. And also if you yourself ever have any questions related to anything with the va please feel free to ask I would be glad to help, and if I dont have the answer I know where to get it sincelike I said I wirk for the va.
