Hi & yes I did. I will see him again on tomorrow for my 6 mo follow-up. He is quite wonderful & I highly recommend him. My surgery was at Magee & I"ve had no complications & lost about 60 lbs. I've been in a stall the past month, but that's okay. You may in-box me or send personal message if you have any additional questions or inquiries..

 Hi!
I knew you had Doc Eid cause that's why we friended one another :)

I had him for my banding.
LOVE HIM & his skills lol.

Im wondering about hospital time. How long did you stay in hospital?
Also, did you have an ivc filter placed before the surgery?

You have done sooooooo well!!
I can't wait to share in the loss lol

Thank u soo much!! I did not have an ivc filter. I was in the hospital for 4 days, I went in on Thursday & came home on Monday. My oxygen level was very low prior to surgery & I had to be able to use bathroom b4 they would let me go home. They had to give me meds to make that happen because it seems everything had shutdown or something. I knew I would be going home as soon as that happened. I was walking & sipping my water but was unable to pass gas or urinate.  So it really depends on how you handle the surgery & recuperate because he had initially told me 2 nights.

I'm sure everything will go well. GOOD LUCK!!

I'm so nervous and having anxiety over this filter thing!!!!
So upset about it but the doc insists!

So far he's told me 2-4 days & 4 weeks recovery before going back to work.
How about you?

Have you had any negatives happen?

No, nothing unexpected. I did a lot of research b4 surgery so I was prepared mentally to deal with mostly anything. The only thing that was annoying was I couldn't drink the protein shakes to get my protein. My taste buds changed & just the smell of it made to sick, like vomiting sick. If I drank too fast or too much, very uncomfortable feeling. I was on pain meds for the 1st two weeks because I also had a hernia repair, so I know I slept thru a lot. Just don't panic if something unfamiliar happen, call his office & ask his nurse about anything that doesnt seem right  & use the food guideline or booklet they give to everyone. I'm just getting to the point where I have kinda figured out how my new stomach works.

When you go in with the assurance that you have a great doctor & staff working with you it is somewhat comforting. If he insists on the filter then he knows whats best & I would trust that. I was nervous also knowing my oxygen level was already low & that my sleep apnea doctor also requested a test b4 surgery to see if it was too low. I was afraid I wouldn't wake up!!  After meeting with Dr Eid a couple of times, I trusted him totally. They have all these tests done prior to surgery to make sure to avoid any complications during surgery, so that is a good thing..

I agree with you, tons of research!!!
Only thing I was shocked & unprepared for/about is the filter.
I trust Doc Eid, even with the 1st surgery he suggested the sleeve but I'm hard headed and didn't listen. I could've been "skinny" by now LOL.

Malinda actually has me tracking food already. That started Monday. I have to set my phone alarm to remind me ugh lol. I'm only seeing her for the initial consult because my insurance only pays 80%. However, at my local hospital it's 95%.

I actually just got diagnosed with central sleep apnea. Nerve related due to past stroke.
The sleep doc thinks my risks will lower but never end even with weight loss.
How much has yours improved?

My sleep apnea is now mild, compared to severe before surgery. It has truly made a difference except for the fibro pain. Blood pressure is normal, still working on cholesterol. Overall, I am soo glad I chose the sleeve. I can still eat most anything, just very very small portions..

Again, good luck. When are you scheduled for surgery?

Oh thats wonderful!
It's a blessing to see improvements along the way. It keeps you motivated!

My surgery is scheduled Sept. 6th. The filter is scheduled the 5th though.
I have to stay close to the hospital on the 5th & then surgery in the morning of the 6th.

I wont know Doc Eid's weight preference till monday but my goal is 150-175.

I have a trip planned to NY with my son & another family for June 2013. So you telling me that you can eat anything is a PLUS because I didn't want to be the odd 'man' out.
I look fwd. to being able to walk the brooklyn bridge without puffing on my inhaler though :)
